The raw material for Borotik – Hevea Brasiliensis (or rubber wood) is regularly felled and re-planted at intervals of 25 – 30 years, thus coming under the category of ” renewable plantation resources”. It forms a valuable substitute for precious forest produce, once it has undergone Boron treatment and preservation. Borates are used in the manufacturing process and are produced in-house. It is important to note that they are the only BIS approved preservatives for Pencils and food packing crates due to their low toxicity. No heavy metals are used. Wherever possible, BML works to preserve the environment, and Borotik- by virtue of its benefits and strengths- offers a marvelous eco-friendly alternative to forest timber.
